Adult, 2 teens charged with beating elderly black man

(CNN) — Authorities have charged two teenagers and an adult in connection with the beating of a 76-year-old African-American man early Tuesday in Baltimore, Maryland, in an incident police say had a racial connection.

1 of 2 Emmanuel Miller, 16, and Zachary Watson, 17 are charged as adults, police said. They and Calvin Lockner, 28, face numerous charges in the alleged beating of James Privott, including attempted murder, assault and harassing a person because of race or religion, according to court documents.

DOC Admits Mistakes in Sex Offender Release

Police say hours after Salvador Medina was released from prison, he cut off his ankle bracelet and then kidnapped two 15 year-old girls in a south Phoenix parking lot. He then held them against their will for nearly 4 hours and raped them repeatedly. They say he even threatend them with a pair of scissors.

All the while, his parole officer had no idea. No alarm went off when Medina cut his ankle device off.
