PHOENIX — Most of the Valley woke up to a soggy morning, and those showers were expected to continue off and on throughout the morning.
It’s a relatively cold storm that’s moving through the state. While we topped out in the low 80s yesterday, we’re looking at a high of only 69 today.
The showers are expected to clear up by this afternoon, but it likely will remain fairly cloudy. Some areas were also seeing some significant wind gusts.
While most the heaviest showers occurred in the very early morning hours — at 2:30 a.m. — some heavier rainfall was making its way through Central Phoenix at about 6 a.m.
As of 8 a.m., South Phoenix had more than an inch of rain. Tempe had .67 inch.
