Arizona Latina Trailblazers Event to Highlight Stories of Courage, Hope and Determination
(PHOENIX, AZ) – The Phoenix College Raul H. Castro Institute in partnership with the Latino Perspectives Media will present the Arizona Latina Trailblazers, a commemorative event to celebrate and acknowledge the accomplishments of Latina leaders who have been instrumental in shaping Arizona history. The event will take place on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Phoenix Art Museum, located at 1625 N. Central Avenue in Phoenix.
“Arizona Latina Trailblazers: Stories of Courage, Hope and Determination, Vol. II” is a collection of digital stories that will showcase at the reception on April 28. The collection will highlight the lives of seven women who have left their mark in our communities. This quality and everlasting educational resource on Arizona history contributed to the state’s Centennial Celebration through its inclusion in the Raul Castro Institute’s collection of the “Arizona Memory Project,” a series of online Arizona history resources housed in the State Library’s webpage.
